Why don't women save more?
As most financial advisers are acutely aware, people aren’t saving enough for retirement. But the problem is especially serious for women.
According to research by Mercer published in June this year, half of the 28 member states of the European Union have a pensions gender gap of 30% or more. In the UK, the figure is almost 40%.
But why is it that women are being left so far behind? And what can be done about it?
